Another Tour of Bad Blogs

I went on my semi-weekly rounds of the conservative blogs. There are a whole bunch of torture deniers out there in conservative blog land. Either outright torture deniers or torture distracters (who would prefer to talk about how Newsweek got it wrong). One of their points on this matter is, "Are you really going to believe Terrorists?" But are the people who are being released from prison terrorists? Because that's who the reports are comming from.

America is killing and torturing prisoners. This is, to my mind, about one billion times worse than the Koran story. So this entire process is one of distraction - and all the other nasty words for small minded partisan hacks who would attack Newsweek while ignoring the News.

Powerline is apparently a highly regarded conservative blog along the lines of Coulter. It is not a gay night club. They got items of importance more clearly wrong with the Drudge Report. Wrong Dead wrong. Wrong NOT like 6 lines in a magazine, but wrong like their entire story for the day, which was then copied and linked by hundreds of other blogs. All of them: Wrong Wrong Wrong.

Apology? Not that I saw. Retration? Not that I saw.

I sure hope Newsweek got this wrong. I also hoped that Americans would not torture and kill someone who later appeared to be an innocent man. But I was wrong on that count.

In other news, I came across this on the internet. While it did not make me cry whatsoever, a manly tear may have partially obscured my vision for a moment. As it did with the girl in the little red dress when watching Schindler's List.

You go check that out. It's OK. I'll wait.

So that goes nicely into the fact that congress wants to start limiting women's roles in the military. This is odd, given the fact that the US is becomming less and less able to attract qualified people into the military. For some reason, young people are being told that it's better to avoid the military than risk themselves on the unprovoked Iraqi war. Hum... Nothing else to say really, except perhaps the guys from powerline will join up.

Limiting women's roles in the military dovetails nicely with anti choice fanatics, faith based hate-laced "family" cults; bible bellowers that point to a passage that says women are less than men in all ways and the vapid visages of head-nodding first ladies and subservient females waiting for the man to tell them what to do, think or say.

The Washington Post article is heart wrenching...so many people, so young, dying for a political trick pulled off by master magicians.

I've met more than a few women in the military, women cops, women rugby players. There are many things I'd like to do with them (most are not my type nor am I theirs, so get mind out of gutter), but getting into a fight with one is off the table.

The people who started this war believe in the helplessness of women - and they'll just have to get over the fact that they sent them into harms way, and sent some to die, in a war to no ends.

Some of the people in the Post piece are women - about 1 per month by my count.

Oooh Nice linkeys! Yep, they work and that helps so much.

Thanks for the shout out doc.

Why do you visit the evil empire blogs? I cannot go. It gives me the willies and makes me unable to sleep.

Limiting women is the job of men who fear the power of woman.

They should be afraid. Very afraid.

I have mixed feelings about women in the military. I am, of course, aware of the absurdity of these congressional and GOP fucks who would like nothing more than to limit woman's rights, yet at the same time are apparently beholden to women in the military - to do the dangerous job they assigned. And these women, like the men, are being wounded, burned, amputated, and killed.

As to my own feelings: women stand the chance of really bad stuff occuring to them should they be captured. In certain situations, they decrease the moral among men. The strongest woman may very well keep up with a man, but when you compare average with average, strongest with strongest - men are at an advantage. I have heard that women are better at flying planes and can withstand higher G-force however.

All of this is most likely moot. We are at war. It is a war of our choosing, but it appears it is also a war in which we require help. We need the women soldiers.

I just wish we didn't.

Too bad we can't let women fight in combat instead of men -- they're meaner, sneakier and far crueler than their male counterparts. Especially the modern female.

Yes, it's really terrible that Bush got us into a terrible war since everyone knows that the twin towers were never bombed and world intelligence agencies, including that of the UN, didn't believe that Hussein would use WMDs since he hadn't murdered the Kurds. That's all just a silly fiction that the world press made up to entertain us all.

I don't know WHY you get so upset over such nonsense.

SunnyT: hates women. Figures. Might be a closet gay.

He is also under the delusion that Iraq has something to do with 911. At this point it is the type of delusion like that of the psychotic who believes the CIA, with aliens, is listening to their thoughts: it is patently false, but the power of the delusion is such that one cannot argue agaist it. Same with the WMD. Idiot.
